Kim Chhaya ready to fight for a place in Crowns’ first team
After finishing a season long loan at Visakha FC, Kim Chhaya has returned to his parent club, Phnom Penh Crown FC, and will also be a part of their project next season in the Metfone Cambodian League.
Cambodia U19’s full-back spent one season on loan at Visakha FC in the 2017 Cambodian League 2, with the youngster making eight appearances and also winning the C-league 2 title with Visakha FC, who also gained the promotion to play in next season’s Metfone Cambodian League.
After returning to the six-time champions of Cambodia, where he has spent over six years, the 19-year-old is ready to impress and fight for a place in Crowns’ first team.
Chhaya believed he has no problems playing alongside his former academy teammates, who have been promoted to Crowns’ first team since 2016, with the full-back living and playing with them for several years.
Kim Chaya told TheMorning via Messenger: “Last season, I played 8 matches for Visakha FC [in the Cambodian League 2]. I missed 4 matches due to injury.
“They [Crowns] called me to return back at the club as I still have a one-year contract with them.
“Next season, I will play for Phnom Penh Crown [senior team], and I am ready to fight for my place. I have trained with them [teammates] for six years already, so we know each other well and are easy to play.
“I will do a great job with PPC next season.”
