Dani on his penalty goal disallowed, last night’s defeat, and his next challenge
Nagaworld FC finished their 2017 Metfone Cambodian League campaign in the fourth place following last night’s 4-3 defeat to Ministry of National Defense FC on penalty shootouts after a 0-0 draw till extra times.
Kipson, Kento, and Sokumpheak scored their penalty, while Kouch Dani’s penalty goal was disallowed and marked as no goal, with Virak’s penalty denied by Um Sereiroth.
Meanwhile, North Korean trio Ri Hyok Chol, Kim Kyong Hun, and Choe Myong Ho as well as Sok Heang netted from the spot kick to seal Ministry of National Defense FC a 4-3 success on penalty shootouts in the league play-off.
Kouch Dani was left disappointed as his penalty goal was not allowed, with Nagaworld FC’s midfielder stating that he was not aware of the penalty rule applied in the Metfone Cambodian League.
Dani’s contract with Nagaworld FC will end at the end of this month, with the midfielder having another big task to complete with Nagaworld FC in the 2017 Hun Sen Cup finals against Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC on December 27th, 2017.
What he Said:
Kouch Dani told TheMorning via Messenger: “I don’t know the rule, [and] nobody did know the rule yesterday.
“It is a very strong rule with yellow card, and [I] couldn’t kick again.
“In my opinion, if one day they change the rule, they should put only yellow card and allow to kick again.
“We had some opportunities to score, but we were unlucky as Kipson hit the post [in normal time].
“Some players were tired yesterday because we played three days before.
“Even if we won yesterday, the schedule is too difficult for us because we have no time for recovery. Three more days, we need to play again.
“In this season, in some months we didn’t have game, but some months we had two games in one week.
“I am not happy as we get number 4 [in the league], for I want to be in the finals [league play-off], so we wish to be the champions of the Hun Sen Cup now.
“Our foreigner players will help us during the training to prepare for the finals [Hun Sen Cup] even they don’t have games anymore. They have good attitude.
His Contract with NagaFC:
“My contract will finish at the end of this month. I [am] checking some offers, so I don’t know where I will play next season yet. It is one or two months to decide where is better for me to learn and work hard in a good condition.”
